Before the internet, before we had Oprah and her OWN channel giving us the latest spiritual book to read, us lonely individuals had to make do with reading books, not blogs, on spiritual health.
In 1998 I was an 18 year old single mom, trying to figure out my path in life. I was a young misunderstood, lonely, hurting woman child without a mom who turned to books to get me through difficult times.
Today while browsing at my local Goodwill I found one of these books that I enjoyed so much back then, called Simple Abundance: A Daybook of Comfort and Joy by Sarah Ban Breathnach. This book is filled with 365 essays written by Sarah that address our spirit in a way that even though written in 1995, is still relevant today in many ways. I look forward to going through this as a woman now in my mid 30’s; so many things have changed and the issues I faced as a teenage mom are so different from what I face now as a working mom and wife.
